The Pharmacy First Service

We are pleased to offer the new Pharmacy First Service,  a free NHS service that allows our pharmacists to treat patients for one of a list of common conditions.

There is no need to make an appointment first, simply call in to the pharmacy and you will be seen as soon as possible. Where appropriate, the pharmacist will provide you with an NHS prescription (free if you are exempt from prescription charges). An alternative course of action, such as referral to your GP or a simple over the counter remedy, may be proposed where an prescription is not deemed to be necessary.

The conditions currently included in the Pharmacy First Service are:

     - Acute Sore Throat (for adults and children aged 5+)
     - Acute Sinusitis (adults and children aged 12+)
     - Shingles (adults aged 18+)
     - Impetigo (adults and children aged 1+)
     - Infected Insect Bites (adults and children aged 1+)
     - Acute Earache (children aged 1-17)
     - Urinary Tract Infections (women aged 16-64)
